Donnington Castle, Just After Lunch on a Tuesday

Posted on Sat 8th Mar, 2008, 2:23pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/800, Aperture: f/6.3,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: None,
Lens: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L, Focal length: 35mm,
Captured: 4th March 2008, 2:05pm,

I liked the way the grass horizon curves up and down in this frame, it seems very calming somehow.

I also like photos that break things down into the simplest possible components, in this case sky, ground and subject with no other distractions.

As for the super-saturated processing I'm not sure why I felt the need... I guess I just like to have a little break from my usual style every now and then.

Nice - colours are wonderful, love the curved horizon.

Yes, that wave of grass is a good contrast against the rigid brickwork.

Very effective composition. The saturated colours definitely add to the shot.
