One Day

Posted on Mon 7th Aug, 2006, 5:27pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/1000, Aperture: f/8,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: None,
Lens: Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC, Focal length: 18mm,
Captured: 31st July 2006, 11:41am,

Surreal colours and pink edges around clouds are two things I normally hate in photographs but leaving the colours natural made this look incredibly boring.

I'm usually ok with how the colour scheme of this site works (or doesn't) with the colours in my photos but I think this is one instance where the photo would look better on a plain white background.

The noise in the sky is a result of using the red and blue channels more than the green one, both of which introduce more noise than there would be in an image with standard colouring. I managed to reduce it a bit but I could've gone mad trying to remove it all.

Really like that one Jamey. The colours are mad AND good.

I think your choice in processing works really well on this.

Lovely sky. An edge of sophiostication about it.

Reminds me of windy waves a-crashing on t'shore. Wonder if there's a close-up of the golfers' comedy jumpers :D

Very good postprocessing, it enhances the landscape that otherwise would be dull. I like the surreal colours.

Unusual colours but it definitely works. I actually said "wow" out loud when I saw this, which doesn't happen often :)
