Roll on 2012

Posted on Sun 22nd Jan, 2006, 6:39pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/20, Aperture: f/4,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: None,
Lens: Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC, Focal length: 29mm,
Captured: 21st January 2006, 4:40pm,

I went out with Jeff yesterday to take some photos of Ghost, a London based hip-hop producer.

It was a lovely little jaunt and I've ended up with quite a few photos I'm really happy with, although I have to give credit to Jeff's photographic eye as some of my shots are basically just copies of his.

This building was by the side of a canal/stream type thing we walked along. The rest of the area was quite bleak and places had signs up saying "London 2012: killing local businesses."

It was just the right time of the evening for the light on this block of flats. I like the way it looks like it's completely isolated from the rest of the world, with the power lines passing it by and the rest of the skyline clear.

I suppose some people are bound to find fault with the sloping vertical lines but it's never been something that bothers me and in many cases I like it.

This is what I wanted to take but had to keep my attention on Ghost. You've done a smashing job - looks terrific - we got there at just the right time of day. Remember it was my idea to go down there ;-)

Yes. You were on a mission to find some overhead power cable type things. Meanwhile I was contemplating how best to reap the glory. Mwahahaha.

I'll be brutefully honest Jamey my dear, this certainly isn't one of your best pieces. Actually it's rather below your standard don't mind me saying... basically for me, it's not very interesting and rather dull.

Sorry I kinda sound really harsh, and I'm not really in a position to judge as my stuff isn't really too great. But yeah, basically for the photo doesn't really do it for me... anyway I'll look forward to your next one :)

Ah, such harsh criticism for 'The Boy'. Yeah, well J, I've got something that will cheer you up. ;-)

Criticism is good if it is constructive. In my book this is a strong image mate. Love the back of the ad hoardings. No criticism from this camp. Good colours nice symmetry
