Gripping Stuff

Posted on Tue 17th Jan, 2006, 11:52pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 8 secs, Aperture: f/8,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: Side, Cropping: Minor,
Lens: Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC, Focal length: 50mm,
Captured: 17th January 2006, 9:02pm,

This is the sole on the pair of ZX 800s I bought today. The orangey, yellowy background is only semi-deliberate. I normally take pictures of sneaks in the daytime to avoid tricky white balance issues but I wanted to wear these tomorrow (and I always take pics of shoes before I wear them) so I did the photos this evening.

I was using a flash to light the shoes and noticed the orange background immediately. There wasn't much I could do about it without taking ages over processing each shot so I just left it. After I'd finished the main shots, I played about a bit.

I got two shots of the sole that I liked and I'll probably put the other one up tomorrow. As for this one, I can't really say why I like it. It just seems to work quite well.

It's an incredible thing to find beauty on the sole of your shoe. Something you just 'sneaker' round in. [Drum sounds].
