Big N

Posted on Sat 7th Jan, 2006, 8:10pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/160, Aperture: f/13,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: Wireless, Side, Cropping: None,
Lens: Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM, Focal length: 100mm,
Captured: 3rd January 2006, 4:29pm,

This is a close-up of the gold N from the Hanon X New Balance M990s that I posted the other day.

I tried a few different close-up things but this was the only one I thought was worth posting. I like the way that the shiny gold surface has come out almost black.

The contrast is mainly down to the lighting. I was playing with my new wireless flash controller thingy and the lighting in this one is mostly from the side, I think.

Not done anything special in processing here. Just converted to black and white and played with the contrast (obviously). The only other thing I did was remove an unsightly hair, but that's about it.

Very unusual perspecive. I initially thought it was a wide view of a snowscene.

I see the macro lens is still getting a work out. Nice shot - how did it look in colour? (although I like this as is)
