Cold Hand, Warm Heart

ISO: 200, Shutter speed: 1/25, Aperture: f/4,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: None,
Lens: Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC, Focal length: 18mm,
Captured: 20th December 2005, 3:35pm,

I dunno. You spend all day trekking around, looking for a shot and then end up posting the one you shot from the hip without even looking in the viewfinder.

The guy on the right crossed over the road in front of me, walked up to his friend (the guy on the left) and gave him a big hug. I had the camera round my neck and I decided to point it at them and quickly take a shot, just on the off-chance it might come out.

I checked it back on the screen and, despite the atrocious motion blur I still liked it. I think the motion works because it goes with the natural motion of them moving towards each other to hug, which is what they were doing at the time I shot it. The whole anonymity thing actually gives it a distinct feel, I reckon.

On the other hand I could be spouting crap to cover up a technically poor photo. It's all subjective at the end of the day so you decide.
