Cold Hand, Warm Heart

Posted on Mon 19th Dec, 2005, 7:32pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/60, Aperture: f/3.5,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: None,
Lens: Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC, Focal length: 50mm,
Captured: 15th December 2005, 1:37pm,

This is where someone has been kicking a football up against a window. I don't know what the ball was covered in but it's left a nice, dusty outline of itself on the glass.

This window is actually the same one that I used for the Reflection shot I posted a while back. I was walking past it and saw the patterns the football had left so I thought I'd see how they came out.

Overall I really like this photo. The muted blues and yellows in the empty room behind work well, I think, and the dirt from the window adds a nice sort of natural grain to the shot, despite it being ISO 100. The third ball print, the tip of which is just visible on the right, might be considered distracting but again I like it and think it gives that area some interest without detracting from the main composition.

Good Christmas theme babe - at the risk of sounding like i don't know much about photography, they look like snowflakes! Really pretty.

Oh yeah. I guess they do a bit. Hadn't even noticed that.

I'd said snowflakes too - also an intriguing reflection going on in the background.

They look like ghost balls to me, almost floating in front of the glass. The room behind is great - nice shot
