Untitled #79

Posted on Sun 30th Mar, 2008, 11:24am

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/60, Aperture: f/4,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: Minor,
Lens: Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC, Focal length: 35mm,
Captured: 23rd January 2006, 2:55pm,

Another archive raid, and one which I spent quite a while tidying up.

I love the 3D-ness of this. By which I mean that the dog's line of sight is almost at right-angles to the line of its body, which in turn is almost perpendicular to the lines of the road. And then you've got the railings which cut across all the other lines apart from the dog's front legs.

In case you're interested, this shot was taken at the same time as this.

That's quite some chain...As you say, there's a nice relationship between the dog, positioning of the face and the railings.

I see what you mean about the 3D element. Your processing style really works with this kind of subject - it intensifys the normality of the scene if that makes sense, adds to the calmness so to speak. God I don't know! In the middle of an essay and my heads all jumbled up.

This is to sad for words. The picture is beautiful but the chain makes me wanna cry...

Nice composition and processing. I feel sorry for the dog having to walk around with that ridiculous contraption attached to it though.
