Going Nowhere

Posted on Wed 17th Jan, 2007, 4:55pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/60, Aperture: f/8,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: 16:9,
Lens: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L, Focal length: 35mm,
Captured: 14th January 2007, 4:20pm,

Thanks to everyone for all the comments on yesterday's shot and I agree with everything that was said. For what it's worth, I do have a similar shot that's more minimal and looks a lot better (IMO) but I'm saving it for the weekend :)

This shot is a bit different for me because I'm not a huge fan of silhouettes really but I do like the imposing nature of the closed entrance to Brighton's burnt-out West Pier.

Wow Jamey, this one is really something. At first, from looking at the thumbnail, it looked like some sort of morbid basketball hoop. Then I clicked the link, and thought it was a prison, then I read your description and relised what a Knob I am. hehe. I really like how intimidating this one looks

I don't normally like symmetry but this really works.

My first reaction was that it's an old radar installation suitably distressed for passing photographers. It's good - a sense of loneliness probably caused by the tone. I like the mad barbed wire too, like frizzy hair flapping in the wind.

I like the scence of nothing beyond the the gate, very symbolic in my eyes. Mal

I think it's fair to say they don't want anyone getting through there. Nice shot, I like the framing.

Makes me think of radars as well. Love the symmetry of this shot!

Image draws your eyes everywhere, which I like.

Excellent, I have a shot of this too.

I like this, for the first time I saw it I thought it's something like big cage and immediately I remebered the SAW movie, maybe thorny wire is making this association!

i love the simplicity in all your shots.
