Waiting Room

Posted on Tue 9th Jan, 2007, 5:31pm

ISO: 400, Shutter speed: 1/20, Aperture: f/3.5,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: Minor,
Lens: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L, Focal length: 35mm,
Captured: 3rd January 2006, 6:36pm,

I'm not going to say anything about this at all but I do really want to hear your views on it, regardless of what you think.

I'd rather hear comments about the content of the photo rather than the technical, photographic side though, if that makes sense.

Really like this, has a very "clinical" feeling to it.

It has me waiting for something to happen, like in some kind of 'Ring' horror fashion.

perfect simplicity

Is that distortion I can see in them roof tiles! ;) It looks like something from the 1970's, very wierd n white, really clinical. Strange I like it it's different and then not. I find the cropped back rest on the left wrong though it makes the shot incomplete.

There's an overwhelming feeling of being watched. Who's behind the window looking in? Who's pointing the security camera at us? Nobody else is here, where did they all go? You should make movies. A very powerful image.

I like it. Doctors waiting room? I keep getting drawn to those pictures on the wall - they look big.

Andy - it was at a train station but could equally have been a Doctor's surgery or anywhere, really.

I would echo Jon's comment, I rather like the irony of you being watched while capturing this image. I would never have guessed that it were a train station Jamey! It's far too clean. Lovely image. Mal

Seems to be a travel agent or a bus station. Very clean. not so busy.

Reminds me of a Jeff Wall shot (which is good).
