Kiosk

Posted on Mon 20th Nov, 2006, 5:49pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 80 Seconds, Aperture: f/16,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: Minor,
Lens: Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM, Focal length: 20mm,
Captured: 18th November 2006, 11:21pm,

This was taken on a night shoot along Blackpool's seafront with DJN on Saturday and is one of three that I'm happy with.

When I started processing this I thought it looked a bit noisy but carried on regardless, getting all the way to the end before noticing that I'd been working on my test shot (at ISO 3200) instead of the proper one. Cue me having to do it all again.

PS there's another shot of this kiosk on Chromasia. His one has a much better title than mine :)

Nicely exposed. Almost looks 3D Modelish against that pitch black backdrop

This is great. I like the browns and how they tempt you with lots of sugary treats and then tell you that the next kiosk is open when you know it wont be.

Exelent Jamey, your cold late night was not wasted. Mal

Great exposure here and I like how you can still see the joins between the wood panels below the window thanks to the play of light.

Nice work Jamey (as usual) I actually think yours is on par with DJN's version, but that's just my opinion.

Reminds me of 'Big', nice shot.

My eyes simply can't work it out, but I do like it. Reminds me of "Big" also. Sorry I didnt stop to say Hello, Alex was driving her beastie car down the prom at a speed where I could just make you guys out, but there was no chance of stopping. Love ya though!

i like the way that it does that, and this is brilliant in contrast to the other thing

I do like Bex's comment - forced up and down the wind blasted seafront in an ever increasing desperate search for toasted teacakes. Nice work on the image especially due to the time it was taken.

reminds me of a rendered 3-D model; anexcellent piece of work.

Mmmm I just cant get on with the image in so much as the kiosk looks superimposed or something... The focus and colouring are great as is the exposure, its just that BLACK backdrop to it all..

So what makes Chromasia's any better than yours? I want answers Jamey. Suby

I never said either was better, I just posted the link because it's the same kiosk, that's all. They're different photos, I don't think any ranking needs to be applied here. There's enough variation in the world not to have to choose.
