ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/160, Aperture: f/4,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: None,
Lens: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L, Focal length: 35mm,
Captured: 18th November 2006, 4:51pm,

This is DJN and Evin on Blackpool beach, yesterday. I've just got back from the first ever Chromasia tutorial weekend, which I thoroughly enjoyed. See today's post on Chromasia for the full list of other attendees, together with a photo of Evin.

Dave and John are both great teachers and Libby did a fantastic job of organising the whole thing. I can heartily recommend the course to anyone else who's thinking of going.

I've got a few more shots from the weekend that I'm happy with so they'll probably go up throughout the rest of this week.

This is a really nice shot of DJN and Evin at work :-) I'll be coming back to see the rest. later this week. We're delighted you had fun and enjoyed the weekend as much as we did.

WOW! I must have been one of the few people who didn't know about this tutorial, I wish I came now! Anyway look forward to the rest of your work Jamey.

Glad you enjoyed the course Jamey, I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the shots. This image reflects the day well for me. It's not often I see Djn working from that kind of distance and again the scale of the composition seems spot on to me. Anyway, speak soon John

Nicely composed and it works very well in B&W. Don't know why but it feels like the image is trying to pull me into the shot!

Like John, I'm glad you enjoyed it and am looking forward to seeing the rest of the stuff you put up.

Same as Jonathan, the pic does indeed draw you in. Must be those water lines on the sand. Nice sharp detail on the photographers

This photo has really caught something special, unexplainable but I want to keep looking at it! Great!

chris, Mon 20th Nov, 2006, 12:38pm
like the contrasting colours of the subjects and the sand, which almosts looks like snow or ice

Jon Swainson, Mon 20th Nov, 2006, 12:40pm
Nice shot Jamey. I'd have been tempted to go on this too if I'd known :/

Tom PH, Mon 20th Nov, 2006, 2:37pm
Nice job jamey. Usually I'd look for something that I really like in an image, this time I like the whole thing. It kinda spells out why I keep coming back to your blog as well. Keep doing what your doing.

Absolute pleasure meeting you Jamey, I really enjoyed the weekend. Great image, I didn't see this one when you processed it. You've captured the hunters stalking their prey. Glad you got home safe and well to. Mal

i don't get it. what exactly was the course outline for the weekend? what did you come away with that you didn't already know?

Jim, Tue 21st Nov, 2006, 9:15am
Just quickly... reminds me of a war movie, if you replace the lens' for M16's and the geekazoids for marines! Hoo-ah! :D

milou, Tue 21st Nov, 2006, 12:29pm
Top Jim comment \o> I like the scale and sense of isolation that sums up shoreline photography.

pinpix, Tue 21st Nov, 2006, 1:54pm
