Safe Passage

Posted on Thu 16th Nov, 2006, 5:16pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/125, Aperture: f/2.8,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: Minor,
Lens: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8, Focal length: 50mm,
Captured: 15th November 2006, 4:01pm,

What I like most here is that tree to the shopper's left is bending away as if it's been affected by an aura, and will bend back after they've walked past.

That's how it looks to me, anyway. Other people may see different things in this shot. If that's the case, please let me know what you see.

I'm going to be away this weekend but I'll set some pictures to go up automatically tomorrow and Saturday. However, email notifications (for those of you on the list) won't be sent out as I have to trigger those manually and I won't be around to do so. Thank you.

It's a neat vision of the scene. However, to enhance the "bending away," I'd personally suggest cropping just to the left of the streee light, just below the person, just to the left of the short column, & lose the white sky. It brings out the other curves of the image.

Heh. That's a very detailed comment. Cheers :)

I agree that its a cool vision/concept for a photo however apart from your description and the linking, I can't find anything that does it for me in this one, sorry.

I really like what you've done to this one Jamey. Colours are rich and sharp.

Ah, the awesome power of the shopping trolley. Good cone action at the back to. As Jide says, nice rich colour.

Mmm dunno about this one... It looks really 1970's to me in its colouring and atmosphere, gonna sit on the fence for this.

This one is a little too flat for me. Although would like to see it in the evening with that strretlamp on. I expect the old man would not want to wait around though :D
