Hostile Waters

Posted on Mon 13th Nov, 2006, 5:35pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/1600, Aperture: f/2.8,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: 16:9,
Lens: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L, Focal length: 35mm,
Captured: 11th November 2006, 1:30pm,

It's wonky and blurred but I think there's some feeling there and that's why I'm posting this.

As you already said, not the sharpest but it still works. I like the DOF in this one, really diverts all your attention to the subject.

I really like the processing here as it forces your eye instantly on the bird ready to land

WOW!!! How did you get such a high shutterspeed?

Jamey, Tue 14th Nov, 2006, 12:05am
By dropping the aperture to f/2.8... Unfortunately my focus wasn't great as I'd have preferred to have the flying bird inside the sharp focus band but I got the other one instead. I still like the shot though.

Excellent B&W conversion, great bird action.

I like the bird that has landed... It looks like it is doing some kind of funky gull dance or something!

great action shot and has emotion, i thnk the blurryness adds to it and good choice on mono

Gull-tastic. I like how the "V" of the wings is echoed by the bridge struts in the background.
