Untitled #29

Posted on Thu 9th Nov, 2006, 11:28pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/60, Aperture: f/5,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: 16:9,
Lens: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L, Focal length: 35mm,
Captured: 5th November 2006, 2:38pm,

Clearly this is another textured shot and it's one I'm quite happy with. I didn't notice the guy grinning in the window until I came to look at the shot on my computer but I like it.

Jamey, I like the idea but I'm not sure you chose the right subject for this one. Maybe I'm just being picky but then again I would only see a shot like this on your blog even without the texture.

I actually really REALLY like this. Definitely one of the best I have seen on here for some reason. Although the subject material isn't particularly "interesting" per se, you can 'see' a lot in this picture (which is what makes a quality photo). For me, the drabness really emphasises what the picture actually is of - a cheap, run-down (?), ten-a-penny local store. I like. Quite arty.

feelin' the chaotic double exposure look to this one.

I do like how you have added texture to some of your images however I think I might have preffered this one without the overlay.. Saying that, the actual photo is really interesting, it spells out all sorts such ash cheap, tacky, desperation (signage). Nice one mate

Nice observational shot Jamey, as usual I am never so sure with these new fangled textured thingymajigs..

Two things bother me with this one. Firstly, the overly seems a bit too pronounced, it's already a busy image and the striped texture overdoes it a bit for me. Secondly, the guy in the shop window is looking straight at the camera and grinning. I feel he detracts from the candid style capture. I think the subject matter is really good though, you've really captured a moment in every day, city life.
