Untitled #28

Posted on Fri 13th Oct, 2006, 5:55pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/50, Aperture: f/7.1,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: Square+,
Lens: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L, Focal length: 35mm,
Captured: 26th September 2006, 11:22am,

Jide posted a flower earlier so I thought I'd follow suit. Yesterday I was talking about how 'nice' images aren't really my thing and I guess this is a good example. It started life as a bright hot pink flower and pretty much every decision I made in the processing reduced the happiness and warmth of the image.

None of which is to say I don't like it because I do. Just that even when given a happy picture to start with I'll usually find a way to make it look a bit darker.

Sorry to say it but I love this one - dewdrops, petals n'all

The soft colour (desaturated?) works really well against the darkness of the remainder of the image. Love the droplets and the idea behind the shot. Nice stuff there :)

Nice shot Jamey. The colours and composition do it for me. And I like the fact that your images are dark/moody.

Nice colour balance to this Jamey mate. You must really get out of the city some more and get in the countryside to "lighten" yer mood ;-)

This is really awesome Jamey, did you put the flower there? I don't think it's dark I think it has it's own character. Nice work

Trying to imagine this in full colour, and don't think it'd have the same effect. Great detail on the flower
