Murder In Paradise

Posted on Mon 28th Aug, 2006, 7:21pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/400, Aperture: f/5.6,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: 2:1,
Lens: Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC, Focal length: 50mm,
Captured: 23rd August 2006, 7:10pm,

This started out as a photo of a dead fly on a window with some palm trees, blue sky and sandstone blurred in the background. But it didn't look as interesting as I thought so I added some textures to it to produce the effect shown.

I'm happy with it, I just wish I could to a texture shot that I intended to be textured right from the start, as opposed to just recuing boring shots with a texture.

Nice one. I like the effect here. Can we see the original?

Actually I think I might prefer it without the deceased insectoid! A Turneresque impression.

I can't do any impressions like this at all Milou I am afraid... ;-) Wow what a wierd shot Jamey, I like it in a really dark way, looks like a Goth record cover or something.

The original, unprocessed, straight-from-the-camera shot can be seen here, for those of you who wanted a look.
