Framed

Posted on Fri 4th Aug, 2006, 5:49pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/1000, Aperture: f/4,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: None,
Lens: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L, Focal length: 35mm,
Captured: 6th July 2006, 5:24pm,

Some of you will have seen this before. I ended up using it in a competiton with the theme "Framed" simply because I forgot the deadline, had to use something quickly and this was all I had.

It's Jide Alakija taking a photo of a guy we met who'd managed to chuck loads of pairs of shoes up onto an overhead telephone line. I took some shots of him standing under the shoes but they didn't really come out that well.

The processing seems particularly harsh here but it works, I think. I wouldn't use this style for every photo but I'm fairly happy with how this has turned out.

Jide - I'll be interested to hear your response :)

Cool shot of Jide, I love to see images of fellow bloggers doin' their thing!!

Why's he pulling such a weird pose? Like the shot, though :)

Phil - he did that crossed arms thing in every photo, for some reason. I guess it was like his "thing". And I think he's looking up because he was looking at the shoes on the wire which are sadly out of shot (mistake on my part really).

Lovely shot and I really love the artistic approach to it too. I only wish you had a few more like this on your photoblog.

I could've sworn I commented on this yesterday! Anyway, I said that I love the shot but can see what you mean about the post processing being harsh. However, now I've slept it doesnt seem quite as harsh. Nice shot.

The processing really works for me here. It really sets a cool mood.

Same as Jon, swore I left a comment :) Great subject which has been captured perfectly.

One of my faves. Has a Spanish/Catholic feel about it and the feeling of intruding into a scene.

I love the color work here!

The capture is perfect, the editing get you 12/10 marks. I really really really love it. "I Likey" Suby
