Found This Spoon, Sir

Posted on Fri 28th Jul, 2006, 1:54am

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/250, Aperture: f/5.6,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: Fill, Cropping: None,
Lens: Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC, Focal length: 33,
Captured: 27th July 2006, 6:15pm,

Didn't think I'd have anything to put up today, then a storm came along and as I was waiting for the bus I decided to take a picture of this sign against the clouds.

I know it's not square-on to the camera but if it had been, there would've been a building looming in the sky, which wasn't what I wanted. I did have a quick play in Photoshop to see if I could sort the perspective but it made my brain hurt so I just left it.

Love the clouds in this and the use of the flash. I had some good clouds here where I live today. I got quite a few good ones.

Very moody, I like it and I don't know why :)

I like the B&W. Would've looked better square on. Couldn't you move the building?

Awesome monochrome on the clouds. The flash fill is quite nice too. I would have tried two other shots along with this to see which looks best. I would have tried a shot with the pole holding the sign spot on vertical and another shot with the bottom of the sign spot on horizontal.

Taking a walk amongst the clouds. I do like shots which make the supposedly mundance into the interesting.

Must say I differ from the others and don't see the perceived improvement having the sign straight on would bring. If anything it would make it flatter. The perspective on it works for me Jamey.
