Self-Portrait #2

Act of God

Posted on Sun 23rd Jul, 2006, 1:45pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/8, Aperture: f/8,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: None,
Lens: Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM, Focal length: 20mm,
Captured: 30th May 2006, 8:58pm,

So obviously this is another experiment with textured shots. You can see an untextured and uncoloured (but still processed) version here.

The main difference between this and the last one is that I shot the texture myself and it comes from a surface around Shepherds Bush. I don't think the street where I shot it is quite in the photo (slightly to the right) but I like the idea of using textures from within a scene, if that makes sense.

As always, let me know what you think.

This is what I love about photography, you can turn something plain into a very nice piece of art. Like it a lot.

If it had a bit of sepia it would look like an old photo. I do like it, I just don't know why.

Experimenting myself at the moment with textures, but nothing that looks as good as this! Very painting like.

Very nice, looks like it's a picture taken on a bad sheet of metal.

Fantastic processing with this one. Very moody. Well done.

Mmm one 1/2 of me likes this and the other has its doubts atm...

amazing processing on this shot, you've produced a work of art from a fairly mundane original.
