Title:
Keigan's Backflip

Untitled #13

Posted on Mon 10th Jul, 2006, 6:00pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/400, Aperture: f/5.6,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: Minor,
Lens: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L, Focal length: 35mm,
Captured: 6th July 2006, 6:08pm,

This is also from the Brick Lane trip, and was taken very near to where Jide took this shot.

I'm experimenting with textures at the moment, after seeing Mark Tucker's photos from Salton Sea. DJN also did something similar a little while back.

Let me know what you think. You can see an untextured version of the above photo by clicking here. It's definitely something I want to do more of but I'd like your ideas and input.

Nice...Its good to see the original version and then this. Good job! I think posting a before and after on some images is a good idea. I was tossing the idea around for some of my images.

Yeah, it works well as jt stated was good to see the original. I like it anyway :)

Just to clarify, the untextured version isn't the "original" in that it's still processed, just with the texture layer turned off in Photoshop.

Personally I prefer the untextured version as there seems a lot of light on the printer giving it a "lift". However, the texture hasn't compromised the picture as that arc gives a sense of balance.

whoops.. My bad.

I'm really not sure about the introduction of artificial textures.. I'm a big fan of DJN and Mark Tucker (esp his portraits) but their textured shots seem a little over-processed. Yours doesn't go too far, but I think I prefer the untextured version.

Nice work - I like the affect. It better conveys an area where people would dump their old printers on the street.

I like both shots equally on merit, but I must admit to leaning more towards the untextured version..
