Skelly Banton?

Posted on Mon 17th Oct, 2005, 10:13pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/200, Aperture: f/3.5,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: Minor,
Lens: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8, Focal length: 50mm,
Captured: 17th October 2005, 2:15pm,

Taken in Shepherds Bush market. I was walking through on my lunch break and had my camera out (I should really consider registering lunchbreakphotos.com as a domain) when this guy stopped me.

He asked if I was a photographer. I started to answer along the lines of "well, sort of..." when he struck a pose and said "come on then, you can take my picture."

Can't really refuse an offer like that. He was selling CDs and I can't remember if he said he was the artist of if he knew the artist. Either way I think he said the name Skelly Banton, but that could just be my laughably bad understanding of dancehall speak.

Ace name. Almost a pro picture. Your skills are wasted, Jamey.

Good story. Seen your site. Liked yesterday's photo, don't like this green though. Good luck with it all.

Whaddya mean 'almost'? ;)

Jamey, Mon 17th Oct, 2005, 11:53pm
Joe_ob - thank you. You can change the colourway at the top, if you like. The 'oldskool' one is a bit more neutral. I might do a black & white one at some point. Depends if I get time.

It's not often a stranger (who's not crazy) wants their picture taken. If only everyone was so eager and cooperative.

Nice looking site and a great photo to show of all the hard work you have been putting in recently. Added your site to my bookmarks as I am sure you will be adding lots of top quality content to keep me coming back for more.
