West Pier #2

Posted on Tue 9th May, 2006, 3:34pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/125, Aperture: f/4,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: None,
Lens: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L, Focal length: 35mm,
Captured: 6th May 2006, 7:28pm,

This is the second shot of West Pier I'm putting up, taken at the same time as yesterday's.

Like the other one, I wanted to try to make this moody too but couldn't even manage anything slightly perturbing so it's ended up like this, which is a bit more 'pretty' than I'm into at the moment.

Overall I'm not that fond of it but I felt it should go up alongside the other one. There'll be an HDR shot tomorrow, you lucky people :)

Nice shot, prefer yesterdays though. Got a similar sky for my one tomorrow, not as good as this though... :)

I prefer this to yesterdays shot for some reason... It might be the composition of it that is better to me as I am a great lover of skies. The processing looks smack on as well in this image mate.

black and white, grain and high contrast usually sum moody up for me (well apart from the obvious subjects)... Its not moody at all, but it aint bad... I prefer yesterdays tho :) Do you usually tend to put up your favourites first as apposed to keeping the best till last?

Jamey, Wed 10th May, 2006, 12:46am
Actually, I do normally keep the best til last but there wasn't a huge amount it with these two and I usually do it when I like both shots, but just like one more than the other. With these two, that wasn't the case. I thought yesterday's was ok but wasn't that fond of this one, so I posted yesterday's to allow me to give context to posting a sub-standard shot. It's a dirty trick, really :)

Great shot - I really like that one!
