ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/100, Aperture: f/3.2,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: None,
Lens: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L, Focal length: 35mm,
Captured: 6th May 2006, 7:30pm,

I went down to Brighton at the weekend to take photos of hippies. Were there any hippies? Were there balls. They all stayed at home because of the weather. So I just wandered around with Ben taking random shots.

Since the weather was quite overcast, I've tried to go for a moody feel to the shots. Let me know if you think I managed it as I can't make my mind up wether it's moody or just boring.

It looks like a giant birdcage in the middle of the sea mate ;-) Nice depth of field though and good foreground interest... Moody nah.

Heh. Yeah, it's Gulliver's canary.

i love the colours of the stones and it has great DOF, you have made it look like quite a murky day which has given it a nice mood

I like it, there is definitally some mood about it, but I think the sea and the clouds could do with a touch of burning or something to exaggerate it a bit more, really nice tho

Great DOF and a nice moody colour range, agree with JD that the skyline would look good with darker feel to it. Nice work though.

I feel as though the dof is leading my eyes down but the composition is leading my eyes up. Argh, my eyes! Love the light and colours.

Ah sunny Brighton - the vertiable jewel of the south coast. It's effective in that it encapsules Brighton on a dull day.

Actually, I've checked this on two properly calibrated monitors and two non-calibrated ones and it does look very 'normal' on the non-calibrated ones, whereas it looks a lot more green and murky on the calibrated ones. So it's all your faults, for not calibratin' yo setups. Apart from milou, that is. :)

Very nice use of DOF here. Great shot.
