ISO: 400, Shutter speed: 1/125, Aperture: f/2.8,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: 16:9,
Lens: Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM, Focal length: 100mm,
Captured: 26th April 2006, 7:08pm,

I already know what you're going to think of this before I post it but I love it. It was taken on the bus home the other day. I was bored so I got the camera out and shot random stuff through the window.

The bus stopped next to this sign and I liked the colours so I took photos of people walking past. This guy just happened to look right down the barrel.

I know it's a very soft image and I do agree that it would be better if it was sharper but I don't think it'd be much better.

I looked back through all the other shots I took that day, some of which were pin-sharp, but this one stood head and shoulders above all of them purely because of the feeling. I really like it.

Which means, of course, it'll go down like a tonne of bricks. Fire away ;)

It's a good composition but I do think the lack of sharpness lets it down. Or maybe if you want further the other way and had got some motion blur it would have worked better.

I did soften it a bit further, actually. It just looked better that way. I suppose I could add some motion blur in PS but something says no. I should probably see how it looks before pooh-poohing the idea, though.

captured a nice expression and moment there, and that green is almost the same colour as this site, fits in well!

I think his movement works wellagainst the still background...nice shot. Looks like the singer from Fine Young Cannibals a bit too :)

I meant more of a motion blur from taking the picture, not sure if PS will give it the right effect. Also forgot to say I like the vignetting.

Nope sorry, it's not doing anything for me at all here Jamey mate.. It's just the whole blurryness of the image that is just unsettling for me as a viewer, if it was sharp then the shot would be good but as it is it's just like ok.. Sorry mate :)

I just think its a little too out of focus/blurry. either that or not enough! colours are exciting tho and I can see what you was trying to capture! Drive by shootings are cool (with cameras ofcourse) I've bin doin a few recently!

Yeah, agree with everyone else I'm afraid. It would probably work better if somthing was sharp, but it all looks blurred. On the bright side though, you always seem to get superb colouring in your shots.

You know, for what it's worth, I think the bluriness gives it more of a random quality, like it was taken from a cameraphone, rather than a £1000 dSLR, and it's a good contrast from many of the other people shots on the site.

love the green! and again the blog layout rocks! cheers ;)

I actually love this one, I think the soft blur adds to the fact that he looks knackered, and with the well placed wording it, well works very well :)
