Up to God

Posted on Tue 25th Apr, 2006, 2:37pm

ISO: 100, Shutter speed: 1/250, Aperture: f/4,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: Minor,
Lens: Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM, Focal length: 100mm,
Captured: 21st April 2006, 1:45pm,

This is the last of the three shots and it's my favourite. I wasn't 100% sure about it at first but it's really grown on me since I processed it a few days back.

I like the way the light has come out in processing and obviously the expression on his face. It's a shame his hand isn't in the frame but it's also nice that you can't see some of the stuff, in a way.

In other news, I think I've actually got enough people shots to be able to post a different portrait every day this week, which will be a first.

the expression is great and its almost like he is reaching up to something that we can't see, but there obviously isn't something there, hes just crazy!

I'm sorry to say, but I prefer the other shot, the one called "Come on down". The fact that the man is looking at the camera helps, his eyes are very expressive. And I like the postprocessing, it adds intensity to the photo. Here we haven't that intense stare. And the arm being cut is a handicap.

heh. Having your arm cut off certainly would be a handicap. I pretty much expected people to prefer yesterday's photo. It's always the way. As I said, I wasn't sure myself until a few days after I'd processed them all.

Personally prefered yesterdays shot, had a certain atmosphere to the shot which I loved. Good capture here though and excellent post processing, all in all a very nice shot.

Very emotional capture, I think it is one of those moments that you can only capture once in the blink of an eye. It is well done.
