Empire State View #1

Posted on Wed 5th Apr, 2006, 5:40pm

ISO: 200, Shutter speed: 1/50, Aperture: f/4,
Camera: Canon EOS 20D, Flash: None, Cropping: None,
Lens: Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC, Focal length: 50mm,
Captured: 20th March 2006, 5:35pm,

As the title suggests, this was taken from the Empire State Building and it's one of the views to the west, if I remember correctly.

I like the lone yellow cab in the bottom right as it looks like he's miles ahead of all the others, but I couldn't think of a witty title to reflect that. Feel free to suggest some.

love the way the yellow cabs stick out on this and the colours of the buildings, the one that got away!

Wonderful shot, the yellows against the black and grays really set off the "lone cab" as well as the other cabs. Cool shot.

I'm amazed actually by the sheer number of cabs/taxis - does anyone in New York actually drive or get the bus?

Lovely shot, Jamey! Almost looks like a model!

When I saw the thumbnail I knew that a fake DOF was going to be applied (im assuming that its fake). Works really well, I find the miniturisation effect quite intreaging and wish to try it one day... As soon as I can find a decent spot :)
